Luis Camargo contacted me through the post-production house of the movie "Terrible", on which I worked as a second editor. Luis lives and works in Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego. His short film Insilios was part of the Historias Breves, a national film funding program for emerging filmmakers in Argentina.
Insilios premiered at the Mar del Plata Film Festival 2018. It went on to have a great journey through many festivals around the world, winning several awards.
My editing work was mainly focused on peeling back the background and character of the protagonists, as well as the subtle relationship that these two men, stranger to each other who share a bus ride to the south, start to develop. This also included leaving out the most expensive scene they shot, which was painful for the director, but in the end it was the right decision to take. This collaboration let to a lasting friendship with the director.
